The evening was also dedicated to the Brooklyn 7, the prison-abolition activists who were brutalized and arrested two years ago when the NYPD (70-strong) busted into a fundraiser party at the Critical Resistance offices. After a long drawn-out trial, the charges against the seven were finally dropped this past Spring. As apart of honoring them, they recevied "commemorative nightsticks" with "I fought the law and the I won!" written on them.
Indeed, they cannot hold us...
