Party for Your Right to Fight III

A wonderful evening of music, drink, dance, memories of pigs, and not goodbyes but "see ya soons". NYC said goodbye to its "movement diva" Kai Lumumba Barrow of Critical Resistance. We were all charged with visiting her in North Carolina sooner than later... and will!

The evening was also dedicated to the Brooklyn 7, the prison-abolition activists who were brutalized and arrested two years ago when the NYPD (70-strong) busted into a fundraiser party at the Critical Resistance offices. After a long drawn-out trial, the charges against the seven were finally dropped this past Spring. As apart of honoring them, they recevied "commemorative nightsticks" with "I fought the law and the I won!" written on them.

Indeed, they cannot hold us...
